When Cleaning Isn't Enough
Not every turf problem is a cleaning problem. Sometimes the material itself is damaged. A seam has pulled apart, a fire pit scorched a patch, a dog dug through the backing, a drainage layer is failing, or a section has faded hard while the rest of the yard still looks fine. Those are repair jobs, and they need a different approach than cleaning.
Turf Medic handles the full range of artificial turf repair across the Greater Las Vegas Valley. We assess honestly, repair what is salvageable, and tell you when something has reached end of life and replacement makes more financial sense. No upper size limit.
Six Damage Categories
Every repair is scoped on site. The same visible problem can have five different underlying causes, which is why we assess before we quote.
Seam separation
Two pieces pulled, lifted, or gapped at the seam. We re-cut edges clean, re-glue or re-stitch, weight while setting.
Burn patches
Grill, fire pit, cigarette. Cut out, cut a matching donor patch, seam it in. Color match depends on fiber age.
Pet damage & dig holes
Dig-throughs to the backing or base. We patch the backing, replace infill, re-groom. Base damage expands the scope.
Tears and cuts
Furniture drag, sharp tool strikes, landscape equipment. Repairable as long as the backing still holds a seam.
Drainage failures
Compacted infill or failing base. We diagnose which, flush and replace infill, or pull sections and re-grade.
Wrinkles & bubbling
Inadequate tensioning or glue at install. We lift, re-stretch, re-glue, and weight. Not every wrinkle is fixable without a partial relay.
What UV Damage Looks Like, and What We Can Do
UV fade is not truly reversible. What we can do is identify sections where fading is uneven (one section faded harder than the rest) and blend them closer through a combination of infill replacement, deep cleaning to remove UV-degraded surface material, and in some cases targeted panel replacement. If the whole yard has faded uniformly, the fade is the new baseline and cleaning or repair will not meaningfully change it.
When to Repair Versus When to Replace
The honest framework: if the turf fibers still have life in them, the backing is mostly intact, and the drainage still works, repair is almost always the better economic decision. Full tear-out and replacement runs $8 to $14 per square foot in the Las Vegas market in 2026. A targeted repair runs a small fraction of that.
The turf has reached end of life when the fibers have lost their spring back, the backing has broken down across large areas, or the drainage has failed across the whole yard. We will tell you honestly during the free assessment. We do not have a financial reason to push replacement over repair. Repair is our bread and butter.
How Repairs Actually Run
1. Free on-site assessment. We walk the yard, diagnose the damage, identify the root cause, and scope the repair. Some repairs reveal deeper problems once we start (a seam lift often has a drainage or tensioning issue underneath).
2. Material match. We match fiber height, color, and face weight as closely as the original material allows. Most residential turf comes from a handful of manufacturers, so matches are possible even when the original installer is gone.
3. Execution. Re-seaming, cut-and-patch, base re-grade. All repairs use commercial-grade materials, including marine-grade adhesives for glued seams and professional turf seam tape for stitched repairs.
4. Final walkthrough. Documentation photos, a walk through of what was done, and a stability check (walking over the repair, pulling lightly on seams, confirming drainage flow) before we leave.
Why We Assess on Site Instead of Quoting Online
Every repair is different. The same visible problem can have five different underlying causes, and the underlying cause determines the scope and the price. A 15-minute on-site walk gives us the information we need to quote accurately. If the damage is DIY-fixable and you want to handle it yourself, we will tell you that and show you how.
Small repairs (single seam, small burn patch, minor pet damage) are affordable. Larger-scope work (full drainage re-grade, multi-panel replacement) runs higher but still under the cost of a full replacement.
